“Then followed that beautiful season... Summer…

Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape

Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood.

~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Hello from the Toymaker

Happy Summer to Old Friends and New!

Things here have been so busy! I’ve been drawing a lot, and have an exciting project I've been working on. Over the years people have asked me if I had any new books or paper goods that they could buy, a lot of people told me that they didn’t have computer printers anymore. So I’ve teamed up with my friend Vanessa to produce high quality printed goods to sell in my Etsy Shop.

I first met Vanessa when she was finishing up her Masters degree in marketing at Johns Hopkins. She ran my Instagram account for a month as her senior project and it worked a treat. Then about six months later, after she went back home to Shanghai, I received an email from her, “You’re going viral here. People are really interested in your art and paper toys.”

So we teamed up to create a quality line of paper products that you can see here…

All my free downloads are still available on www.thetoymaker.com for anyone who wants to go old school and print their own toys. On Etsy you will find preprinted ones that are printed on nice thick paper in lovely colors. We’ve also created a few boxed sets that would make nice gifts for birthdays, holidays and care packages.

My mission is help grownups and kids spend time together making things, help people put down their phones and make something fun.

I hope that you have as much fun making this month’s free toy as I did making it.

Where ever you are in the world I hope that you are well and safe.

Wishing you a creative summer,

Best thoughts,

"Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.
