Hello from the Toymaker
And Mystery Scissors
Do you collect things? Some people collect paper dolls or squashed pennies, stamps or Legos. My two obssessions are books, especially antique books on toymaking, and an indecent amount of art supplies. A good friend of ours sent me a box of antique scissors last week and they were so lovely I drew a picture of a few of them as well as some of my own favorites.
From left to right above, Hair cutters, thread snips, paper shears, fabric shears, Gingher embroidery scissors, Dahle paper snips for detail work, Gold Swiss Victoria's for needlework and on the far right, an odd pair of three bladed scissors that cuts a 2mm fringe. If you have any idea what a three bladed scissors are used for let me know. It's a mystery!
Wishing you a creative week!
These happy little spinners are easy to make and twirl in the wind.
I've been obssesed with them all week.
Who has seen the wind?
Neither you nor I but when the trees bow down their heads,
the wind is passing by.
